964 John Fortune - "I think it will be a brilliant race to watch!!"
13/09/2011 11:30Current BriSCA F2 World Champion 964 John Fortune makes his first appearance on shale since racing at the Mildenhall World Final four years on Saturday as he bids to successfully defend his World Title.
Having failed to qualify for the World Final through the Semi Finals, John will have to defend his title right from the back of the grid. “I’m not expecting too much” said John “Although I used to race shale regularly in the Crewe days I have only done one shale meeting in the last decade!”
“I am looking forward to racing but to be honest at the start I might hang back as it’s a race I don’t want to miss what happens up front. I think it will be a brilliant race to watch!”
“It is very tough to predict a winner. If I don’t come through I know Andrew Palmer and Chris Bradbury have gone well this year and Chris Burgoyne is in a good position and if he gets the breaks he could be away. Like wise Bradbury if he hangs back to see what will go on between Moodie and Speak as I have a feeling they will take each other out. If I had the choice to give my trophy to someone it would be Rob Speak as he is someone from my era and it would be nice to show that he still has got the ability and it would also show the younger drivers that the older one’s still have got it.”
